All classes worked on their skills today. The 7th and 8th grade classes did a great job of picking up on the volleyball serve – very proud of ya! You should all get a great grade on the volleyball serve skill test : ) The 6th grade classes will need to practice the volleyball serve for another day – it is a new skill for most and will therefore take some time to master! Remember to bring your written work folders to class this Friday – we will write a goal statement for p.e.!! Great job today folks – see ya in the morning!

Hook'em Horns!!!

Welcome to the Hook’em Horns P.E. page!!!

This is new to Coach Dew’s P.E. class here at LMS and I (Coach Dew!) will use this blog to update you on everything that is going on in class! Hope you find it useful…

August 31st – Sept. 4th

We will be inside the main gym – Our activity unit will be a combination of two amazing team sports… Basketball & Volleyball : )

31st & 1st

Students will work in their teams and help design a drill station circuit. Each team will come up with 1 basketball drill and 1 volleyball drill(each team will be assigned a different skill to cover). All teams will be required to complete a drill/skill worksheet and then must demonstrate each of their drills to the class. This activity will culminate in a circuit training system in which all teams rotate through a variety of drill stations every 3-4 minutes!! You finally have some input into the type of drills we do in class It is my hope that those of you with some background in these team sports will draw upon your experiences and come up with some creative ways for your peers to develop their skills.
